Bengaluru: Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu stressed the need to produce quality and safe chicken for better human health. Mr. Naidu was speaking at the inauguration of the two-day WVPA (India) Conference 2024 on ‘Avian Health: Challenges and Opportunities’  in Bengaluru.

He emphasised the role of poultry in the rural and urban economy. The Conference will comprise lead papers, poster presentations, student elocution and industry-scientists-farmers interface meetings. It will cover recent developments in avian health and management to identify solutions to present and future obstacles in profitable poultry farming.

More than two hundred delegates comprising eminent scientists industry representatives, academicians, students and policymakers across the country and abroad are participating in the Conference. Dr.Raghvendra Bhatta, Deputy Director General, ICAR, New Delhi, Dr.J Radhakrishnan, Additional Chief Secretary, Tamil Nadu are some of the important dignitaries participating in the Conference.

The World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA) (India) and ICAR – National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology (ICAR-NIANP) are jointly organising the Conference.
