Telangana govt declares 13 new mandals

On July 23, 2022, the Telangana government decided to create 13 new mandals in the state, citing administrative reforms to make the administration more accessible to people.

The decision was made with the demands and needs of the local people in mind. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar issued the necessary directives.

Narayanpet district has two mandals: Gundumal and Kothapalle. In the Vikarabad district, a new mandal named Dudyal has been established.

Koukuntla will be a new mandal in Mahabubnagar district. The new mandals in the Nizamabad district are Aloor, Donkeshwar, and Saloora.

Mahabubabad district has established a Seerole mandal. Gattuppal (Nalgonda), Nizampet (Sangareddy), Dongli (Kamareddy), Endapally and Bheemaram are the other new mandals (both in Jagtial).

The formation of new mandals is a continuation of the process of reorganising districts, revenue divisions, and mandals that began after Telangana was formed in 2014.

Telangana had only 10 districts when it was formed as a new state. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government established 21 new districts in 2016.

Two more districts were established in February 2019, just a few months after the TRS reclaimed power, bringing the total number of districts in the state to 33.

Saturday saw the addition of 13 new mandals, bringing the total number of mandals to 607.
