ISRO to launch its new SSLV Rocket:
On August 7, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch its new Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) from Sriharikota’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC).
According to ISRO, the mission will launch at 9:18 a.m. IST. The public will be able to see the launch up close from ISRO’s Launch Viewers gallery.
Low earth orbit satellites under 500 kg are in high demand for uses like earth observation and providing internet connectivity in remote areas, and the Indian Space Research Organization has developed the SSLV to launch them into orbit.
The primary payload of SSLV’s first demonstration flight is an earth observation satellite called MicroSat 2A.
ISRO claims that an SSLV rocket can be built in a week to meet the needs of the burgeoning space sector.
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) invited the general public to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) viewing gallery in Sriharikota on Monday to witness the launch of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV-D1) Mission, which is scheduled for Sunday, August 7.
The launch of the SSLV-D1/EOS-02 Mission is scheduled for Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 9:18 am (IST) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota. The SSLV-D1/EOS-02 Mission is scheduled to launch from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota, on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 9:18 am (IST). To watch the launch, ISRO invites the public to the Launch View Gallery at SDSC.
The Space Port of India naturally draws visitors to witness the launch activities and cheer for our country’s pride. Thousands of viewers would be able to witness the launch thanks to the launch view gallery.
The newly developed solid booster stage (SS1) for ISRO’s new launch vehicle, Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV), was ground tested today, March 14, 2022, at Satish Dhawan Space Centre Sriharikota at 1205 hrs.
During the test, all of the propulsion parameters were found to be satisfactory and closely matched the predictions.
The SS1 motor is a three-segmented solid propulsion stage that incorporates many new technologies and innovative processes, such as a bond-free joint between the segments, a high-power electromechanical actuator with digital control electronics, an optimised ignitor, and simultaneous propellant casting of all segments, all of which have been validated in ground testing.
The solid booster stage’s successful test has given enough assurance to move forward with SSLV’s first developmental flight (SSLV-D1), which is scheduled for May 2022. The final SSLV stages, SS2 and SS3, have undergone all required ground tests and are now ready for integration.
