EKA gets ARAI approval for E9 E-Bus

EKA, an electric vehicle manufacturing and technology firm and a subsidiary of Pinnacle Industries, has gained CMVR certification from ARAI for its 9m pure electric, zero-emission bus, EKA E9 (Automotive Research Association of India). Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder & Chairman of EKA, received the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) accreditation from Dr. Reji Mathai, Director of ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India).

EKA successfully completed all of the essential functions and safety tests and approvals to get Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) certification, which is a vital step for the business to begin customer trials and sales of the 9m electric bus, EKA E9, in the coming months.

The E9, EKA’s first battery-electric bus, boasts a revolutionary streamlined vehicle design and optimised power and range thanks to its monocoque steel frame and entire composite construction. With a reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) than conventional Internal Combustion engine-powered buses, the EKA E9 promises sustainability and profitability to all stakeholders.

EKA E9 is dedicated to providing a stable basis for sustainable and efficient public transportation in cities throughout the world, as well as dependable and lucrative operations for consumers. With a seating capacity of 31 people and a driver, as well as a standing capacity, the EKA E9 can also accommodate a wheelchair through a folding ramp. The car is also fuel cell capable, with a 200-kilometer range on a single charge.

The EKA E9 is powered by a unique in-house designed operating system software that has been validated for reliability and assures the vehicle’s application-based setup. The E9’s modular construction allows it to be modified for a variety of purposes, including municipal buses, staff carriers, and school buses.
