CarDekho Group pledges to become Carbon Neutral by 2050 under United Nations framework

CarDekho Group:

CarDekho Group, one of India’s most prominent technology unicorns, has declared that it will be carbon-neutral by 2050. It has taken the UNFCCC pledge by signing up on CNN (Climate Neutral Now) (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change). To meet its goals, the company is developing a strong ESG strategy to achieve climate action goals while also focusing on social and governance aspects.

The organization’s strategy is to motivate and support all stakeholders in order to reach the net zero goal. The company is committed to improving business resilience and lowering climate risk through improved disclosures. The organisation believes in the power that can be harnessed by incorporating ESG Philosophy into its daily operations. Growth is defined not only by revenue but also by resilient business continuity and long-term operations.

CarDekho is the first Indian unicorn to take decisive action, pledging to reduce its carbon footprint and achieve net-zero emission targets through a UNFCCC-CNN Pledge.

One of the most pressing issues of our time is the climate crisis. To avoid the unthinkable consequences of inaction, everyone, including individuals and corporations, must do their part. The CarDekho group is founded on the ethos of growing large businesses by addressing customer needs in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner. CarDekho is addressing the risks posed by climate change through a comprehensive strategy that includes lowering emissions, implementing new sustainability practises, and developing cutting-edge technology and products that are better for the environment,” said Mr. Amit Jain, CEO and Co-founder of CarDekho Group.

It is worth noting that the company’s founders, Mr. Amit Jain and Anurag Jain, have offset their family’s annual carbon footprint on the UNFCCC carbon offset platform through a Solar Project in Rajasthan. This emphasises the importance of climate action from the top of the CarDekho Group management.

As a participant in the CNN – Climate Neutral Now initiative, the group will promote climate action through its communication channels. The goal is to raise public awareness about the significance of achieving climate neutrality. The amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases emitted by a person or organisation each year as a result of their actions is referred to as their “carbon footprint.” Governments around the world are aiming to limit temperature rises to 1.5°C by 2050.
