CII Hyderabad conference

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a conference titled “Beyond Security: Driving Trust through AI, Cyber Resilience and Data Protection” in Hyderabad. The event brought together industry leaders, government officials, and cybersecurity experts to discuss the future of digital trust and security.

Trust Becomes Core to Business Success

Speaking at the event, M Goutham Reddy, Chairman of CII Telangana, said that trust is now essential for business growth in the digital economy. He explained that as companies adopt artificial intelligence (AI), they must also focus on security, governance, and ethical responsibility.

He added that growth without trust is fragile, but trust-driven growth is sustainable and scalable.

Cybersecurity Now a Business Priority

The conference highlighted that cybersecurity and data protection are no longer just IT concerns. Instead, they have become critical for business continuity, brand reputation, and regulatory compliance.

Experts discussed the growing risks linked to AI, cloud computing, and digital platforms. They also stressed the importance of cyber resilience and readiness for India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework.

Challenges and Opportunities with AI

Anirban Mukherji, Founder and CEO of miniOrange, pointed out that AI is increasing both opportunities and risks. He warned that advanced AI systems are expanding attack surfaces and creating new data privacy challenges.

Meanwhile, experts also raised concerns about “Shadow AI,” where employees use unauthorized AI tools, increasing security risks.

Speakers emphasized the need for strong AI governance, secure digital ecosystems, and industry collaboration. They highlighted that MSMEs face challenges due to limited resources and require support to adopt cybersecurity best practices.

Government representatives also spoke about strengthening digital identity systems and data protection frameworks.

The key takeaway from the conference was clear—trust must be at the center of digital transformation. As AI adoption grows, organizations must focus on security, compliance, and ethical practices to build resilient and future-ready businesses.
