Joy, devotion, and spiritual energy filled the streets of Attapur as the ISKCON Temple hosted the 4th Annual Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra. The grand event attracted over 10,000 devotees from across the city, turning the locality into a vibrant celebration of faith.
The sacred procession began at 1 PM from the ISKCON Temple in Attapur. As tradition dictates, the deities of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra were brought out of the temple and placed on beautifully decorated chariots.
Devotees, young and old, enthusiastically pulled the chariots through the main streets. The air echoed with Harinam Sankirtan—devotional chants of Lord Krishna’s holy names. Many danced with joy, while others walked silently in prayer. The procession concluded at Saam Bhoopal Reddy Gardens, near Pillar No. 173, by 6 PM.
Culture and Devotion
After the procession, the celebrations continued with spiritual music and cultural programs. Devotees enjoyed melodious bhajans, live kirtan, and devotional dance performances.
One of the evening’s highlights was a shadow puppet show, which depicted scenes from the Ramayana. Using traditional Vedic characters and storytelling, the performance captivated children and adults alike.
A grand offering of Chappan Bhog—a spread of 56 vegetarian dishes—was made to the deities. No devotee left without sharing a meal. The spirit of equality and unity was felt deeply as people from all walks of life sat together, enjoying the sanctified food.

Books, Blessings, and Bhakti
The event also included an exhibition of spiritual books and Vedic literature. Volunteers helped visitors explore teachings on meditation, devotion, and self-realization. Many devotees took home books to continue their spiritual journey beyond the event.
A Day to Remember
As the evening came to a close, devotees received darshan (divine sight) of the deities, offered prayers, and left with a sense of joy and fulfillment.
