Six Urban Forest Parks
On 28th July 2022, as many as six urban forest parks in Hyderabad were made accessible to the general public. These parks, which have been built in and around the city by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, will not only offer breathing room but also support the development of smart, green, sustainable, and healthy towns.
Forest Minister A Indrakaran Reddy and Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy dedicated them. Nagaram, Pallegadda in Maheswaram, Sirigiripuram in Maheswaram, Srinagar in Thukkuguda, Tumaloor in Maheshwaram, and Manyamkancha in Kandukur mandal all have parks.
Ministers, officials, and other public representatives planted saplings as part of the eighth installment of the Haritha Haram programme and inspected the visitor facilities. These parks are estimated to have cost Rs 30 crore to develop. Speaking on the occasion, Indrakaran Reddy stated that urban forest parks have been developed as urban lung spaces in reserve forest areas near cities and towns in accordance with the ideas of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He stated that they are being set up on all sides of Hyderabad to provide a pleasant environment for residents.

Locals would be granted free entry once a week. In addition to providing recreational opportunities, these parks protect forest land. In addition to the greenery, walkways have been built, and a variety of other amenities have been provided. These parks have CRS and see-through walls, an entry plaza, a visitors’ pathway, a safari track, an interpretation shed, gazebos, washrooms, watch towers, seating arrangements, and plantations.
