Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited (NLCIL), has been conferred the prestigious Einstein World Records Recognition for his visionary decision to introduce free bus transportation for school students in Neyveli Township — a welfare initiative that has benefited thousands of students and their families.
The award was presented on June 30, 2026, at A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Hall, Neyveli, by Dr. J. Monica Roshinee, Co-Founder of Einstein World Records, in the presence of NLCIL’s Functional Directors, senior officials, teachers, and students.
A Welfare Initiative That Transformed Daily Commutes
Launched in August 2024 under Shri Motupalli’s leadership, the free bus service ensures safe, timely, and cost-free transportation for school children across Neyveli Township. Beyond easing the financial burden on families, the initiative has significantly improved access to quality education for thousands of students.
A student from NLC Girls Higher Secondary School, Block 11, shared an emotional testimony during the ceremony, describing how the free bus service brought economic relief to her family while ensuring she reached school safely every day. A teacher from the same school added that the service has encouraged more parents — especially those with daughters — to enroll their children in Neyveli schools, boosting girls’ education and inclusivity.
“A Visionary Leader with Compassion” — Einstein World Records
Reading the official citation, Dr. J. Monica Roshinee praised NLC India Limited for having a CMD whose leadership reflects compassion and social commitment. She encouraged the students present to dream big and aspire to become future leaders.
CMD Motupalli Dedicates Recognition to the NLC India Family
Accepting the honour, Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli revealed that nearly 30,000 school children are currently studying in Neyveli Township — a number greater than NLCIL’s own employee strength. He credited the strong academic performance of these students to dedicated teachers, hardworking students, and supportive parents.
He dedicated the award to the entire organisation, stating that the achievement reflects the “collective commitment of the entire NLC India family” and thanked the Board, employees, teachers, and workmen for their continued support.
A Triple Celebration for NLC India Limited
The event doubled as a Triple Ceremony, recognising three major milestones:
- Einstein World Records Recognition conferred on CMD Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli
- IPMA Level-C Certification awarded to officials trained through the Learning & Development Centre
- Platinum Awards won by NLC India’s Quality Circle Teams at the Quality Circle Forum of India Convention, held in Puducherry on June 12–13, 2026
