Quality Care India Limited (QCIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Intuitive, a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery, to expand advanced surgical care across India.
Under this partnership, QCIL will scale robotic-assisted surgery across its hospital network, including CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH, and Evercare Hospitals. The rollout will follow a phased multi-system installation plan. As a result, patients in tier 2 and tier 3 cities will gain better access to minimally invasive treatments.
The initiative aims to improve access to robotic-assisted surgery across specialties such as urology, gynaecology, oncology, transplant, and general surgery. Moreover, the collaboration will strengthen clinical capabilities by providing structured training and ongoing support for surgeons and care teams.
Speaking on the collaboration, QCIL Group Managing Director Varun Khanna said the focus is on building strong clinical systems and expanding access to advanced care beyond metro cities. Therefore, more patients will benefit from high-quality surgical treatment closer to home.
Technology, Training, and Better Outcomes
As part of the agreement, Intuitive will provide training, technical support, and service assistance across QCIL hospitals. This will help ensure consistent surgical quality and better patient outcomes. In addition, robotic-assisted surgery enables faster recovery, reduced pain, and greater precision.
Rohitt Mahajan, Vice President and General Manager, Intuitive India, said the partnership aims to improve patient access to advanced care and support quicker recovery.
Growing Robotic Surgery in India
India currently has over 200 robotic systems and more than 1,500 trained surgeons. With increasing demand, initiatives like this will strengthen healthcare infrastructure in emerging regions.
This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to delivering advanced, technology-driven healthcare across India.
