Sphoorthy Engineering College (UGC Autonomous), Nadergul, Hyderabad, hosted its annual alumni meet “SMRITI SAMMELAN 2K25” at the Chanakya Seminar Hall. The event brought together former students, faculty members, and families for an evening filled with memories, inspiration, and celebration.
The alumni meet began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. The dignitaries present included Sri S. Chalama Reddy, Chairman of Thoma Educational Society; Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy Surakanthi, Secretary & Correspondent; Dr. M.V.S. Ram Prasad, Director; Dr. Venkata Sesha Giridhar Akula, Principal; and Mr. Darshanala Ashok, Head of the Civil Department and event in-charge. Alumni Association office bearers also joined the inauguration.
Nearly 292 alumni, along with their family members, attended the event. To ensure everyone could enjoy the celebration, the college arranged a live telecast for family members, allowing them to witness every moment comfortably.
Welcoming the alumni, Principal Dr. V.S. Giridhar Akula recalled their student days and praised their achievements. He highlighted that many alumni now hold respected positions in government and multinational companies. He said their success reflects the discipline and strong foundation provided by the institution.
Chairman Sri S. Chalama Reddy addressed the gathering with an emotional speech. He described the alumni as the “shining stars” of the college and wished them continued success. His words received warm applause from the audience.
Adding a lighter note, Secretary & Correspondent Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy Surakanthi shared fond memories of the alumni’s student life. He recalled their playful moments on campus, which have now become cherished memories. He emphasized the lifelong bond between the alumni and the college.
The Alumni Association President expressed gratitude to the institution and advised current students to respect their teachers and learn from them. The Alumni Association Secretary assured students that alumni would always support them through guidance and mentorship.
A short film showcasing alumni memories was screened next. The video evoked nostalgia and strengthened emotional connections with the alma mater. Following this, several alumni shared their professional journeys, challenges, and success stories. Their experiences inspired both students and faculty members.
Later, alumni interacted with department heads to discuss curriculum updates, laboratory development, and future collaborations. Many alumni offered support in training programs, placements, expert lectures, and infrastructure development. The Principal appreciated their commitment and sought continued cooperation.
The evening concluded with vibrant cultural performances, including dance shows, group singing, and a fashion show. Despite the chilly weather, the atmosphere remained warm and joyful. Faculty members, students, and alumni interacted freely, strengthening the spirit of unity.
Expressing gratitude, Mr. D. Ashok, event in-charge, thanked everyone who contributed to the success of SMRITI SAMMELAN 2K25, making it a truly memorable reunion.
