NMDC Steel Limited (NSL), India’s youngest integrated steel plant, has reported its best-ever monthly operational performance for November 2025. The company delivered multiple production records across its raw material systems, sinter plant, blast furnace, steel melting operations, and rolling mills—marking a major step forward in capacity utilization and process stability.
Record Milestones Across the Plant
Raw Material Handling System (RMHS)
- Highest single-day wagon tippling: 616 wagons on 21 November 2025
- Highest monthly Base Mix production: 5,18,886 tons
Sinter Plant
- Highest-ever daily sinter output: 15,590 tons (30 November)
- Record monthly sinter production: 4,14,271 tons
- Operated at 105% of rated capacity
Blast Furnace
- Record daily Hot Metal production: 11,315 tons (119% CU)
- Monthly Hot Metal production: 2,80,049 tons (101% CU)
- Achieved lowest-ever monthly average fuel rate: 519 kg/ton — among the best in India
- Highest PCI rate: 164 kg/ton
Steel Melting Shop & Hot Strip Mill Achievements
NSL continued its upward performance trend with record output across all downstream units:
- HR Coil production: 2,03,356 tons — highest ever
- Crude Steel production: 2,09,445 tons
- Liquid Steel production: 2,15,010 tons
- Capacity utilization crossed 84%, 85%, and 86%, respectively
- Achieved best-ever converter lining life: 4,799 heats
- Successfully commercialized two new steel grades:
- IS 2062 E450BR
- IS 2062 E350C
These grades strengthen NSL’s product offering for construction, infrastructure, and heavy engineering industries.
Operational Efficiency & Cost Savings
- Optimized Oxygen Plant operations enabled power cost savings of ₹1.9 crore
- Successfully completed PG Tests of:
- Blast Furnace (Package 05)
- Turbo Blower (Package 10A)
- Secured BIS certifications for:
- IS 2041:2024
- IS 2062 E450BR
