The Hyderabad Orthodontic Study Group (HOSG), in collaboration with the Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS), celebrated National Orthodontists’ Day 2025 with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The event brought together leading orthodontists, dental students, and members of the public from across India. It highlighted the vital role of orthodontics in promoting oral health and confident smiles.
Walkathon for Oral Health Awareness
The celebrations began with a Walkathon from Durgam Cheruvu Bridge to T-Hub, drawing over 200 participants. Orthodontists, students, and community members joined the walk to raise awareness about the importance of orthodontic care in maintaining oral and general health. The event encouraged public participation and highlighted how early orthodontic intervention can transform lives.
Distinguished Guests and Leadership Presence
The event was graced by Dr. K. Rajesh Reddy, MLA, Nagarkurnool, and an orthodontist himself, who served as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring speech, he encouraged young professionals to contribute to public oral health.

A major highlight of the day was a delegation meeting with Shri Damodar Raja Narasimha, Hon’ble Minister of Health, Telangana. Discussions focused on how orthodontic care can play a greater role in improving public oral health outcomes.
Additionally, HOSG hosted IOS MANTHAN, a special gathering of past and present IOS Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Secretaries. The session focused on the future roadmap of IOS and strategies to enhance member engagement and professional growth.
Evening Session and Keynote Lecture
The celebrations concluded with a grand evening program at the Telangana Contractors’ Club.
The highlight of the evening was a keynote lecture by the world-renowned orthodontist Dr. N. R. Krishnaswamy, who shared cutting-edge insights on advances in orthodontic science and patient care.
