Re Sustainability Launches Green Ganesha

Re Sustainability Limited (ReSL), Asia’s leading provider of circular economy solutions, has launched two major green initiatives this festive season — the 18th edition of Green Ganesha (#ReBIGGreenGanesha) in partnership with 92.7 BIG FM, and the Aakri waste collection app, a smart platform designed to simplify household waste management.

Green Ganesha 2025: Eco-Friendly Celebrations

Last year, Ganesh festivities in Hyderabad generated over 6,000 tonnes of post-immersion waste. Traditional POP idols, painted with toxic chemicals, harmed lakes and aquatic life. To address this, ReSL and BIG FM are distributing 15,000 eco-friendly seed Ganesha idols this year. Made of natural clay, seeds, and organic fertilizer, these idols can be immersed at home in flowerpots, turning into plants and preventing water pollution.

Renowned actor Tanikella Barani is supporting the campaign, urging citizens to adopt greener practices. The initiative will also feature on-ground activities and radio-led awareness drives until September 2.

Aakri: Smart Waste Collection App

Alongside Green Ganesha, ReSL unveiled Aakri – Powered by Re Sustainability, a mobile app that offers doorstep pickup of sanitary waste, used diapers, recyclables, and hazardous household waste. Currently serving over 1 lakh households, Aakri integrates with ReSL’s recycling units and incineration plants to ensure safe and sustainable disposal.

The app not only makes discarding waste convenient but also rewards households for recyclables, encouraging citizens to be active participants in India’s zero-waste journey.

Leaders Speak

Mr. Masood Mallick, MD & CEO, Re Sustainability, said:
“Our vision is to make every citizen a custodian of the environment. Green Ganesha preserves tradition while protecting our lakes, and Aakri simplifies waste management at every doorstep. Together, these initiatives inspire responsible living and accelerate the shift toward a circular economy.”

Residents at the launch welcomed the twin initiatives, calling them a “missing piece” for sustainable living in Hyderabad.
