Wise (LON: WISE), the global technology company simplifying the way money moves and is managed, has officially opened its new full-stack office in Hyderabad. Marking this milestone, Wise’s APAC leadership team visited the city this week to engage with local teams and customers.
Since hiring began in April 2025, the Hyderabad office has grown rapidly, reaching a headcount of 70 employees across engineering, operations, and people functions.
Leadership & Local Growth
The Hyderabad office is led by Smrithi Ravi, APAC Head of Engineering at Wise, who recently relocated from Singapore. With over six years of experience at Wise’s regional hub, she has played a key role in scaling Wise’s product operations across APAC.
Wise plans to hire hundreds more roles in Hyderabad over the next few years, spanning product, engineering, and operations. The Hyderabad team will contribute both to India-specific solutions and to Wise’s global product roadmap.
Why India Matters to Wise
India has always been a key market for Wise. In 2013, the company launched inward remittance solutions for the Indian diaspora. In 2021, it followed up with fast outbound transfers from India.
Most recently, Wise introduced an international account feature that allows Indian businesses and freelancers to receive payments in eight foreign currencies, without relying on costly wire transfers.
Leadership Speaks
“At Wise, our customers drive everything we build,” said Smrithi Ravi.
Spending time with them this week gave us valuable insight into their real-world cross-border needs. With our growing Hyderabad team, we’re excited to bring those insights to life and shape the future of global money movement.
” Richa Dirani, APAC Head of Talent, added: “Meeting the talented professionals here has been energizing. The quality of tech and operations talent in Hyderabad confirms we chose the right place for our hub.”
