Fourth City-Telangana’s Next Big Urban Development
Fourth City-Telangana’s Next Big Urban Development

Telangana, India’s youngest state, is rapidly expanding beyond its capital, Hyderabad. With Secunderabad and Cyberabad already established as key urban centers, the government is now planning a Fourth City to drive the next phase of development. This ambitious project aims to create a futuristic urban hub with world-class infrastructure, technology, and sustainable living.

The Vision Behind the Fourth City

The Telangana government has announced its plans to develop the Fourth City at Mucherla in the Rangareddy district, about 50 kilometers south of Hyderabad. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has emphasized that this city will be designed for the future, focusing on artificial intelligence, education, healthcare, and sports.

By positioning the Fourth City as a hub for emerging industries, the state aims to attract investment, create jobs, and enhance Telangana’s economic growth.

Key Features of the Fourth City

The Fourth City is designed to be a modern, self-sufficient urban center with several state-of-the-art facilities:

  • AI and Technology Hub – A research and innovation center for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
  • Skills Development University – A specialized university to equip students with industry-relevant skills.
  • Super-Speciality Hospitals – Advanced medical facilities to enhance healthcare and medical tourism.
  • World-Class Stadium – A sports complex designed to host national and international events.
  • Modern Infrastructure – Smart roads, eco-friendly buildings, and sustainable urban planning.

Why Mucherla Was Chosen for the Fourth City

Mucherla was selected as the site for the Fourth City due to its strategic location near Hyderabad. The area was initially planned for a Pharma City under the previous government, but the current administration has expanded its vision to include multiple sectors.

With its proximity to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and well-connected highways, the Fourth City will benefit from excellent connectivity while reducing congestion in Hyderabad.

Governance and Oversight

The Telangana government is committed to the successful execution of the Fourth City project. A senior IAS officer will be appointed as the special officer to oversee its development. Additionally, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) will be established to safeguard the city’s resources and assets.

These measures will ensure that the Fourth City grows sustainably and remains a model for future urban planning in India.

Economic and Real Estate Impact of the Fourth City

The Fourth City is expected to create significant opportunities in real estate and business investments. Nearby areas like Shamshabad, Thukkuguda, and Maheshwaram are already seeing increased demand for residential and commercial properties.

With the introduction of smart infrastructure and top-tier amenities, the Fourth City will attract investors, technology companies, and skilled professionals, further boosting Telangana’s economy.

The Future of Urban Growth in Telangana

The Fourth City is more than just an expansion project; it represents Telangana’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth. By integrating smart technologies, education, and healthcare, this futuristic urban center will set a new standard for city planning in India.

As the Fourth City takes shape, it promises to transform Telangana’s landscape, offering a better quality of life and new economic opportunities for generations to come.
