Three exciting events—the 7th edition of India’s Largest Pet Expo, the 17th Edition of Kids Fair, and the inaugural Kids Business Carnival—have commenced at Hitex, Hyderabad. Running from January 31 to February 2, these expos are expected to attract over 25,000 visitors.

Grand Inauguration and Key Highlights

The three shows were officially inaugurated by Dr. Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, Honorable Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hyderabad. Also present were Mr. TG Sreekanth, Business Head of Hitex; Dr. Madhurita Gupta, Founder & CEO of Goa Angel Network; and Mr. Ramakrishna from Growel Feeds. Speaking at the event, Dr. Khan emphasized the emotional benefits of pets, stating that “pets are good friends and stress busters,” while also highlighting the importance of extracurricular activities for children.

Mr. TG Srikanth, Business Head of Hitex, introduced Petex, India’s premier pet trade fair, running alongside the Kids Fair and Kids Business Carnival. Supported by Carniwel, the expo features over 60 exhibitors, including participants from Turkey, the Czech Republic, Japan, Singapore, and Germany. The 17th Edition of the Kids Fair, supported by Akshayakalpa Organic, features over 60 exhibitors showcasing products and services focused on children’s development, careers, and extracurricular activities.

The fair promotes skill-building through interactive zones, educational workshops, and activity booths that enhance children’s learning and creativity. Special zones for science experiments, storytelling sessions, and coding workshops make this event a must-visit for young minds.

Maiden Edition of Kids Business Carnival

For the first time, Hitex is hosting the Kids Business Carnival, supported by Meru International School, to showcase young entrepreneurial talent. The carnival will feature:

Product Display Stalls where young entrepreneurs exhibit their creations.

Unique Offerings by Kidspreneurs, including DIY robotic projects, handmade coconut shell products, and books authored by young writers.

Special Attractions – Kids Run and India Bake Show

Adding to the excitement, the Kids Run will be held on February 1st at 5 PM, with three categories—4K, 2K, and 1K—welcoming over 1,000 children aged 3 to 13 years. This event, conducted by Gigglemug, aims to encourage physical fitness and active participation among kids.

The 6th Edition of the Masqati India Bake Show is also taking place at the venue. Organized by homebakers.co.in, this competition offers a prize pool of Rs 1.4 lakh for the best bakers in the country.

Barkitecture – Redefining Pet Homes

One of the standout exhibitors is Barkitecture, a dog furniture startup launched by Hyderabad-based SVAG Homes. This innovative brand has introduced a new range of dog castles, villas, pods, and furniture, designed exclusively for pets. Co-founder Vishal Bothra revealed that the company aims to sell 100,000 pet homes in the coming year, with prices ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 5 lakh. These unique pet homes can be purchased online via Amazon, Instagram, and the company’s official website.

Pet Adoption in Hyderabad

The event also highlights the increasing rate of pet adoptions in Hyderabad. According to Adoptions for Hyderabad, a volunteer-driven NGO, an estimated 300 to 400 Indie dogs are adopted through their organization annually, with a similar number being rescued. Around 1,000 Indian breed dogs (Indie Dogs) find homes in Hyderabad each year, thanks to the efforts of 15 NGOs, including Blue Cross, Stray Animal Foundation India, Jeeva Vaatsalya Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre, and Shree Aadya Animal Shelter.
