Beijing: China on Wednesday stated that the Chinese and Indian militaries are carrying out the ”resolutions” regarding the disengagement in eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in an orderly fashion. China and India have reached agreements on matters related to the border, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said during a media briefing, responding to a question about the progress of the disengagement.

”At Present the Chinese and Indian border forces are carrying out the agreements in an orderly manner,” he stated, choosing not to disclose any further details.

After a key agreement between India and China, troop disengagement began on October 2 at the friction points of Demchok and Depsang Plains in eastern Ladakh.

On Tuesday an Indian Army official stated that the disengagement process in these areas is nearly complete. Both armies are verifying the Withdrawal and removal of infrastructure.

Relations between India and China worsened after a violent clash in Galwan Valley in june 2020, the most serious military conflict in decades. On October 21, 2024 foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced in New Delhi that the recent agreement was reached after weeks of negotiations and aims to resolve the issues that arose in 2020.
