Hybiz TV hosted the Telangana Tea Championship 2024 in Hyderabad, where hundreds of women from different corners, took part in the tea-making challenge on Thursday.
Sumaya Reddy (Actress & Producer), P. Brahmaiah (Chief Executive Officer – Sri Chakra Milk) and G. Ram Reddy (National General Secretary – CREDAI) were present as guests. M. Raj Gopal (Managing Director – Hybiz TV & Telugu Now), J. Sandhya Rani (CEO – Hybiz TV & Telugu Now) and others participated in it.
Over 150 participants were shortlisted for the unique tea competition organized by Hybiz TV, at HICC NOVOTEL on March 7, 2024.
Hybiz TV Telangana Tea Championship, an annual event in Hyderabad, is truly one of a kind. Housewives, working women, budding entrepreneurs, and tea enthusiasts with a passion for experimenting with new recipes all participated in the championship. Making tea in a competition evaluated by a 10-member tea-tasting committee isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, challenging even for those who think brewing a cup of tea is a simple task. The competition featured a diverse display of tea flavours and all the women participated in entertainment activities like singing, dancing, and ramp walk.
Since the competition took place a day before International Women’s Day, it was exclusively open to women participants. However, their better halves and children were seen cheering them up and boosting their confidence.
Sponsors and organizers supplied participants with essential ingredients such as tea powder, milk, sugar, and water, as well as induction stoves, pans, strainers, bowls, etc.
After several rounds of tea tasting and judging contestants on flavour, presentation, and hygiene, 12 finalists were selected. In the finals, they were asked to replicate their preliminary tea recipe, and assessed for consistency in taste, colour, and overall quality.
Judges selected 8 winners in the final round:
K. Jyotsna – First Prize Rs.1 Lakh
K. Varalakshmi – Second Prize Rs. 50 thousand
P. Jyotsna – Third Prize Rs. 25 thousand
Rs. 10,000 each are the five winners:
1) Priyanka Pandey, 2) Shailee Maniyar, 3) M. Gita, 4) Rupa Ball & 5) Rani Nune.
