17 Years Old Can Apply For A Voter Card:
Everyone who is 17 years old can apply for a voter card, According to a statement released on Thursday by Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar and Commissioner Anup Chandrapande, anyone who is 17 years old can apply for a voter card. It has been made clear that the voter card will only be issued to individuals who are at least 18 years old. Up until this moment, January 1 had been the cutoff for 18-year-olds to submit an application for a voter card. It was emphasised that by selecting this option, voter registration might be finished ahead of time. If you apply for a voter card at the age of 17, you can only receive a year.
New Forms Beginning August 1:
Rajeev Kumar has instructed the state election commissioners, EROs, and AEROs to implement this choice right away. Anyone who has turned 17 is urged to accept the application for an election card. When they turn 18 years old, they should only be issued cards. The opportunity to apply in advance for a voter card should be made available to everyone who turns 18 on April 1, July 1, or October 1 of 2023.
It has been made apparent that this is the cause for the revisions to the Registration of Electors Rules and Laws. Every three months, new voter cards are handed out, along with the option to update them. Application forms will be made accessible starting on August 1. Up until that point, you can still apply using the dated application forms and be accepted.
