New Command Control Center
In the first week of August, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will formally inaugurate the new Command Control Center, also known as the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate, on Banjara Hills Road No. 12. This facility has been under construction for around six years.
In preparation for the arrival of the chief executive, Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand and other top officers visited the construction site on Saturday to inspect the security measures. Although the administration has not officially announced a date for the inauguration, August 4 has been mentioned as a possible date.
According to City Police Commissioner CV Anand, the Hyderabad City Police is getting closer to being recognised as a national elite organisation with the upcoming technological fusion centre in Banjara Hills.
“A dry run was conducted with all concerned departments such as R&B, TRANSCO, GHMC, L&T, Builders Shapoorji Pallonji, vendors regarding the sequence of events during the inauguration, as well as the completion of pending civil and command control centre works,” Hyderabad police said in a press release.
This project includes four towers, one of which is ornamental. Each of the two tallest structures has 20 or 15 stories. The 1.5 lakh square foot basement is not included in the 5.5 lakh square foot project.
The centre will help to connect the operations of various police units under one roof. The Command-and-Control Center will provide sophisticated surveillance to the police and will have a network of over 9.25 lakh cameras deployed across the state.
KCR laid the foundation stone for the massive project in November 2015, after M Mahendar Reddy, Hyderabad’s then-police commissioner, suggested it.
