Hyderabad-based Freyr Energy, a leading residential solar solutions provider, has launched India’s first intelligent self-cleaning solar technology, along with advanced hybrid solar systems. The new solutions aim to solve two major problems faced by solar users in India—dust accumulation on solar panels and frequent power outages.
Solving the Dust Challenge in Solar Power
Dust is one of the biggest challenges for rooftop solar systems in India. Studies show that dust can reduce solar power generation by up to 30% if panels are not cleaned regularly. However, manual cleaning is time-consuming, costly, and water-intensive.
To address this, Freyr Energy has introduced an intelligent self-cleaning solar system. The system uses sensor-based automation to clean panels automatically. It also reduces water usage by nearly 90% compared to traditional cleaning methods. As a result, solar panels maintain optimal efficiency without manual intervention.
Hybrid Solar Systems for Uninterrupted Power
Along with the self-cleaning technology, Freyr Energy has also launched next-generation hybrid solar systems. These systems combine on-grid solar power with battery storage. As a result, households continue to receive power even during grid failures.
In addition, the hybrid system allows users to store excess solar energy for later use. This helps reduce electricity bills and lowers dependence on the power grid.
Strong Government Support Boosts Adoption
Solar adoption is gaining momentum across several Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh. Central and state governments are offering attractive subsidies to encourage rooftop solar installations.
For example, Uttar Pradesh provides subsidies of up to ₹1 lakh, the highest in the country. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh offers subsidies of up to ₹78,000. The PM Surya Ghar Yojana and Kerala’s Soura Programme further support residential solar adoption.
Due to these incentives, homeowners can achieve a payback period of just 3 to 4 years. After that, they can enjoy low-cost or free electricity for more than 20 years.
Company Outlook and Expansion
Freyr Energy has emerged as a leading solar provider in the Telugu states. It has completed over 12,500 installations nationwide and has an installed capacity exceeding 120 MW. The company operates across multiple cities in North, South, and West India.
Freyr Energy also runs 10 Solar Experience Centres across the country. These centres help customers understand solar technology, financing options, and long-term benefits.
The company stated that the new launch aligns with India’s renewable energy goals and supports the national target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
