The Suharth Foundation continues its mission to transform menstrual health awareness with the successful rollout of Phase 2 of the Suharth Shakti Campaign. Focused on sustainable menstrual hygiene and women’s empowerment, the event drew a powerful response from community members, changemakers, and thought leaders alike.
Held in Hyderabad, the event highlighted the need for biodegradable menstrual products, education, and access for underserved girls and women. The Foundation distributed over 1,000 Suharth Shakti Kits—each packed with organic bamboo-based sanitary pads and hygiene awareness materials.
Empowering Voices and Esteemed Guests

The campaign was graced by prominent figures who brought energy and purpose to the stage:
- Dr. Lavanya NJP, DCP, Women Safety Wing Hyderabad – Chief Guest
- Dr. K. Shilpi Reddy, Gynaecologist & Clinic Director, KIMS – Guest of Honour
- RSV Badrinath Garu, Ex-DCP & Telangana CMO Office – Guest of Honour
Their speeches addressed key issues like:
- Ending menstrual stigma
- Promoting eco-friendly sanitary alternatives
- Advocating for community-driven support models
Their collective message: Every woman has the right to menstruate with dignity.
A Bold Step: RTM – Right to Menstruation
One of the major announcements of the event was the RTM (Right to Menstruation) initiative. Spearheaded by Suharth Foundation, RTM invites citizens to pledge support for underprivileged girls by sponsoring biodegradable sanitary kits at just ₹1,500 per girl per year.
This contribution ensures:
- Regular access to safe, bamboo-based sanitary pads
- Hygiene education and dignity for the recipient
- Reduction in plastic waste caused by conventional sanitary products
“It’s about health, dignity, and equal opportunity,” said Hiteshi Dutta, Founder of Suharth Foundation and a noted climate and social advocate. “No girl should miss school—or life—because she lacks basic menstrual care.”
More Than Distribution: A Movement of Awareness
A powerful street play performed by volunteers captivated the crowd and tackled taboo topics head-on. Through storytelling, it illustrated the environmental impact of plastic pads and the societal silence around menstruation.
The Suharth Shakti Campaign is not just about products—it’s about starting conversations that have been long overdue.
The Road Ahead: Reaching 10,000+ Women in 2025
With Phase 2 completed, Suharth Foundation is now preparing to expand the campaign to rural and underserved regions. The goal: impact the lives of over 10,000 women and girls this year with access to sustainable menstrual products and health education.
Why This Matters
- 75% of Indian women lack access to hygienic menstrual products
- Millions of pads end up in landfills every month
- Lack of awareness leads to shame, infections, and missed opportunities
By combining eco-conscious innovation with grassroots action, the Suharth Shakti Campaign is creating a new menstrual movement—one rooted in health, sustainability, and social justice.
