

The National Parasports Talent Hunt and Training Camp 2025 has officially kicked off at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad. Organized in collaboration with Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) and the Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF), this prestigious event aims to identify and train the next generation of para-athletes for international competitions, including the Paralympics 2028, Asian Games 2026, Commonwealth Games 2026, and Youth Asian Games 2025.
This National Parasports Talent Hunt will run from April 23 to April 28, 2025, and is designed to scout talented athletes with disabilities and nurture their skills across 29 different parasports.
Objectives of the National Parasports Talent Hunt
- The primary goal of the National Parasports Talent Hunt is to discover para-athletes from diverse regions and train them to compete at the highest levels. The event will:
- Identify hidden para-athletic talent across India
- Provide basic parasports training and counselling
- Promote inclusivity and sporting opportunities for Children with Special Needs (CwSN)
- Train and mentor selected athletes for global sports events
With this year’s National Parasports Talent Hunt, the spotlight is on youth empowerment through adaptive sports.
Inauguration by Esteemed Guests
The National Parasports Talent Hunt 2025 was inaugurated by Ms. Shilpa Reddy, Trustee of AMF and Mrs. India, along with other dignitaries including Sri T. Gopalakrishna, Deputy Commissioner, NVSRO Hyderabad, and Sri Aditya Mehta, Founder of AMF.
Ms. Reddy expressed her pride in supporting the initiative:

Talent Hunt Structure & Participation
The National Parasports Talent Hunt and Training Camp 2025 attracted over 1,000 applicants nationwide. After careful online screening, 300 para-athletes from Hyderabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Pune, Patna, Lucknow, and Shillong were shortlisted to attend the week-long camp in Hyderabad.
Key activities at the camp include:
- Talent identification trials
- Structured basic training in 29 parasports
- Motivational talks by international para-athletes
- Counselling sessions for students and teachers

According to Sri T. Gopalakrishna, the National Parasports Talent Hunt has already created a major impact:

AMF’s Infinity Parasports Academy is India’s first dedicated training and rehabilitation centre for para-athletes and serves as the foundation’s core training base for all selected talents from the National Parasports Talent Hunt.
