YSRCP to Hold Statewide Temple Pooja on September 28 Over Tirupati Laddu Controversy

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP has called for rituals in all state temples amid the controversy surroundig the adulteration of ghee used in prasadam laddus for the Tirupati Balaji Temple. the Party aims to restore the sanctity of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. This follows a four-hour Shanti Homam panchagavya prokshana (ritualistic purification) held at the Tirupati temple on September 23.

Notably, CM Naidu first alleged that the Tirupati Laddus were adulterated with animal fat, a claim later confirmed by lab reports. It was revealed that the inferior quality ghee used contained beef oil and lard during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration, sparking public outrage. However, YSRCP denied these allegations, asserting that such ghee was not permitted to enter the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. In a letter to Prime Minister Modi, Reddy sought intervention, stating that all procedures were followes by the TTD, which oversees Tirupati.

The YSRCP announced it will hold poojas in all state temples to restore the sanctity of the Tirupati temple, which they claim has been tarinshed ny CM Naidu’s false allegations. Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that Naidu’s claims about prasadam being adulterated with animal fay misled people and defiled the image of Lord Venkateswara. to address this, the YSRCP is urging participation in Poojas on saturday, september 28.
