Telagana Telangana financial planning
Telangana financial planning

Telangana has emerged as one of India’s most financially prepared states, according to a new study by the Insurance Awareness Committee (IAC-Life) and IMRB Kantar. The findings show that people in Telangana, especially in Hyderabad, strongly adopt life insurance for savings and protection.

Key Findings of the Study

  • 100% awareness of life insurance as both safety and savings.
  • 94% prefer planning for unexpected life events.
  • 87% want savings plans that provide lump sums or monthly income.
  • 78% know about life insurance savings plans.
  • 54% are aware of child insurance plans.
  • 38% plan to buy life insurance within the next three months.
  • 90% learned about insurance from TV, while 56% heard it from agents.

Telangana: A Model for Financial Security

These results prove that Telangana is leading the way in financial discipline. Citizens are not only saving for the future but also actively planning for retirement and wealth creation.

Speaking on the results, Mr. Venkatachalam, Co-Chairperson of IAC-Life, said:
“Telangana is making steady progress in financial preparedness. People here are combining protection with wealth creation, which is very encouraging.”

Awareness Campaigns to Strengthen Reach

As part of the “Sabse Pehle Life Insurance 2.0” campaign, IAC-Life will launch:

  • Educational programs on savings and child plans.
  • TV and digital campaigns in regional languages.
  • Success stories of families who secured their future with life insurance.

Through these efforts, the committee hopes to build stronger trust and encourage wider adoption of term plans and savings products. Importantly, the use of simple language and real-life examples will help people relate better.

About the Insurance Awareness Committee

India still faces a life insurance protection gap of 87%, and this figure is even higher for young adults. To close this gap, the Insurance Awareness Committee was set up in 2019 under the Life Insurance Council. With support from 24 life insurers, the committee runs national campaigns to spread awareness and boost insurance penetration.

Conclusion

Telangana’s strong focus on savings, protection, and early retirement planning highlights the state’s leadership in financial awareness. With the “Sabse Pehle Life Insurance 2.0” campaign, Telangana is expected to play a major role in shaping the future of India’s insurance sector.
