On 1st June 2025, cricket fever hit new heights at a glittering event held across Hyderabad and Chennai. The launch ceremony was spearheaded by Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali (Chairman, SSPL), Ravi Mohan (Celebrity Patron), and L.T. Anand (CEO & Director, SSPL). From the unveiling of a stunning 5-foot trophy to the explosive new league anthem, the Southern Street Premier League started its innings with flair, passion, and promise.
What is the Southern Street Premier League (SSPL)?
The Southern Street Premier League is the first-of-its-kind T10 Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, aimed at identifying and nurturing street-level cricket talent from across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Pondicherry, and Goa.
With 12 powerhouse teams, each selecting 25 top talents, SSPL promises edge-of-the-seat cricketing action. More importantly, it gives grassroots players a real chance to showcase their skills on a national stage — and possibly beyond.

Selections will happen across metros and small towns. 500 finalists will emerge. From them, 300 will go under the hammer in an epic auction.

Players go through match-like simulations to see how they perform under pressure. Thermal cameras and speed trackers capture every move.

How to Join the League
With an affordable entry fee of just ₹699 + GST, players above the age of 12 can enter the SSPL selection process. Trials will be held across metro and non-metro cities in each participating state. The multi-tiered selection system ensures that the final 500 players are selected through rigorous, transparent assessments.
Out of these, 300 players will enter the auction pool—giving them the opportunity to be picked by one of the 12 league teams.
