We must all take care of our hearts, and this can be achieved by walking at least 45 minutes every day and adopting healthy eating habits, said Dandu Shivaram Raju, Chairman and Managing Director of SLG Hospital, one of the leading hospitals in the city. He inaugurated the 5K run organized by the hospital on the occasion of World Heart Day. Over 400 participants from nearby neighborhoods took part in the event. The run started at 7 AM near the hospital and concluded back at the hospital at 7:45 AM. Following the run, cultural programs were held, and refreshments were provided to all participants. Residents from various apartments and residential societies, primarily from Nizam Pet, Kukatpally, Kousalya Colony, Bandari Layout, Bachupally, and other areas participated enthusiastically. Afterwards, training in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was provided to interested locals.

During this event, DVS Somaraju, Executive Director of the hospital, announced special health packages for the convenience of residents in the Nizam Pet and Kukatpally areas, which will be available from September 29 to October 15. He mentioned that a package worth Rs. 2,999, which includes an ECG, 2D Echo, and cardiologist consultation, will be offered for Rs. 799. Additionally, an angiogram test worth Rs. 13,999 will be available for Rs. 4,999. He urged individuals who experience fatigue while walking or climbing stairs, sweat without any reason, notice their heart beating rapidly or slowly, feel a burning sensation in their chest, or experience pain in their jaw, neck, or shoulders, or swelling in their legs, to consult a cardiologist immediately. Medical experts and other staff from the hospital participated in these activities.
