On Tuesday, September 24, the stock market experienced significant fluctuations. The Sensex reached a high of 85,163, while the Nifty touched 26,011 during trading. However, both indices closed lower by the end of the day. In the Sensex, 16 of the 30 companies closed in the green and 14 in the red. Similarly, in the Nifty, 25 companies closed in the green and 25 in the red. Metal and energy shares saw gains, while IT, banking, and FMCG shares declined.
Decline in Shares of State Bank of India
Shares of Hindustan Unilever fell the most today, closing down by 2.46%. Other declines included UltraTech Cement at 1.54%, IndusInd Bank at 1.16%, Kotak Mahindra Bank at 1.13%, and Titan at 1.00%. Additionally, shares of Nestlé India, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, and State Bank of India also recorded declines.
Asian Markets Also Witness Gains
At the same time, Asian markets saw gains. The Shanghai Composite Index in China rose by 4.15%, while Japan’s Nikkei increased by 0.57%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index also climbed by 4.13%.
