PM Modi met and congratulated the members of the country’s Paris Olympics troop at PM house on the occasion of independence Day. He shook hand with players and prasied India’s youngest Olympic medalist Aman Sehrawat, shooters Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh and Swapnil Kusale and members of the Inidan men’s hockey team among others.
A total of 117 Indian athletes participated across 16 sports at the paris Games. India clinched Six medals, one silver and five bronze.
Before that PM Modi said in his address to the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort on the 78th Independence Day, ”It is the dream of India to host the 2036 Olymics, we are making preparation for that” PM Modi also extended his wishes to the Indian contingent that will take part in Paralymics from August 28 to September 8 in Paris.
Manu Bhakar met the President of India Droupadi Murmu on wednesday, August 14 at her residece and extended her gratitude to her team and the President of the Indian Olympic Association PT USha for their support.
