The 11th International Yoga Day made history on the serene shores of RK Beach, Visakhapatnam, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi led over 3 lakh people in a powerful display of unity, health, and harmony. This year’s event became one of the largest yoga gatherings in the world, reinforcing India’s leadership in promoting global wellness.
Theme: “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”
The official theme for 2025, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, emphasized the role of yoga in nurturing not just personal well-being but also environmental balance. PM Modi highlighted the deeper message of yoga, stating that it connects the mind, body, and planet. He called for a new movement—Yoga for Humanity 2.0, urging citizens worldwide to embrace yoga as a daily practice for a peaceful and sustainable future.
“Let this be the beginning of Yoga for Humanity 2.0 where inner peace guides global action,” said PM Modi.

- Government staff and professionals
- Youth, students, and senior citizens
- Tribal communities and women’s groups
- Members of the Indian Armed Forces
The celebration was part of #YogAndhra2025, a state-wide campaign that trained over 1 million yoga practitioners in the weeks leading up to the event.
Naval & Global Participation Amplified the Celebration
This year’s International Yoga Day wasn’t limited to Visakhapatnam:
- Over 11,000 Navy personnel participated from the Eastern Naval Command.
- Yoga sessions were held aboard Indian naval ships, in Ladakh, and by Indian troops abroad.
- More than 60 countries across the globe celebrated alongside India, making the event a global movement.
Yoga as India’s Gift to the World
The 2025 celebration once again positioned yoga as India’s soft power on the world stage. By combining ancient wisdom with modern wellness, the event called for universal adoption of yoga for better health, mental clarity, and a peaceful planet.
