TSRTC Ordererd 300 Electric Buses:
TSRTC Ordererd 300 Electric Buses, Olectra Greentech has received a 500 crore rupee deal to provide 300 electric buses. TSRTC has granted the Letter of Award (LoA) to Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY), a member of the MEIL Group.
The order is a part of the FAME-II scheme of the Indian government. These buses will be provided for 12 years under a Gross Cost Contract (GCC)/OPEX model. These buses, which will be delivered over a 20-month period, will be purchased by EVEY from Olectra. These buses will be maintained by Olectra during the duration of the contract. This transaction is a related party transaction and will be conducted on an arm’s length basis between Olectra and EVEY (transactions between parties that are not associated with one another outside of the transaction).
“It makes us glad to get another prestigious order. Our zero-emission buses are happy to transport people around Telangana. The last three years have seen our buses travelling to and from Hyderabad. KV Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director of Olectra, stated that we will deliver the buses on time.
In different State Transport Undertakings right now, notably in Pune, Mumbai, Goa, Deharadun, Surat, Ahmedabad, Silvasa, and Nagpur, EVEY and Olectra are running electric buses.
The seating capacity of these 12-Meter, low-floor, non-AC buses with electronically controlled air suspension is 35. To ensure commuter safety, the buses will have CCTV cameras, an emergency button, and USB ports at each seat. At an 80% state of charge, the lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery in it will allow it to drive about 200 kilometres (SOC). To recuperate some of the kinetic energy lost when braking, the buses will have regenerative braking systems. In around five hours, the battery is fully charged. In 2015, the MEIL Group company Olectra Greentec, which was founded in 2000, debuted electric buses in India.
