As part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada, NTPC SRHQ today organised a cleanliness drive at the iconic landmark of Hyderabad- Charminar.
This initiative aimed to highlight the importance of maintaining cleanliness at such historically significant and heavily visited sites.
The employees of NTPC actively participated in cleaning the premises of this historical monument, creating a visual demonstration of their commitment to Swachhta (cleanliness) and environmental responsibility.
He stated, “We all should come forward to take initiative for maintaining swachhta in such places.” His remarks underscored the importance of individual and community efforts in preserving the beauty and sanctity of our historical and cultural heritage sites.
Adding to this, Shri SN Panigrahi, General Manager (HR), highlighted NTPC’s ongoing dedication to Swachhta Pakhwada, which started on 16th May 2024.
He mentioned that NTPC has been undertaking various activities under this initiative to create widespread awareness among the public about the significance of cleanliness.
Today’s event at Charminar is part of a series of such activities aimed at instilling a sense of responsibility and pride among citizens.
The cleanliness drive saw NTPC employees raising slogans about swachhta, which attracted a lot of public attention.
The event not only served as a practical effort to clean a historic site but also as a catalyst for behavioral change among the public.
The drive was organised in collaboration with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
GHMC officials present at the event appreciated NTPC’s efforts in organizing the cleanliness drive.
They lauded the company for its proactive approach to maintaining the cleanliness of public spaces, particularly those of historical importance like Charminar, which sees a high footfall daily.
This event at Charminar is a shining example of how public-private partnerships can effectively address urban cleanliness and environmental sustainability.
