Namit Joshi (S/o Manju Joshi), a seasoned professional in the pharmaceutical industry, has assumed office as the new Chairman of the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL), following his elevation from the position of Vice Chairman. The announcement was made during PHARMEXCIL’s 20th Annual General Meeting held on December 23, 2024. With over three decades of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, Namit brings extensive expertise to this prestigious role.
In his professional journey, Namit Joshi has made significant contributions to the growth and global recognition of India’s pharmaceutical industry. He is currently the Commercial Director of Centrient Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Bain Capital, where he manages the East region, covering Asia and Africa. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of the company, which specializes in pharmaceutical solutions for the global market.
Namit’s elevation to the position of Chairman is a testament to his dedicated service to PHARMEXCIL over the past two years, during which he served as Vice Chairman. His contributions have helped advance the interests of Indian pharmaceutical exporters, promote global trade, and facilitate the adoption of high standards in pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution.
Namit Joshi A Multifaceted Career:
Born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, in 1971, Namit Joshi is the son of Dr. H.B. Joshi, a renowned veterinarian, and Manju Joshi. Namit’s academic journey began with a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. He further honed his expertise with a Post Graduate Diploma in International Business Strategy from the prestigious Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT).
With nearly 30 years of experience, Namit has worked across various facets of the pharmaceutical industry, including Pharmaceuticals, Diagnostics, Biologics & Biosimilars, Retail Pharmacies, and Healthcare Media Advocacy. His career has spanned across the entire value chain, from Drug Substance to Drug Products, and he has held leadership roles in globally renowned companies such as Boehringer Mannheim, Roche Diagnostics, Nicholas Piramal, LG Life Sciences, and Guardian Pharmacy.
Throughout his career, Namit has been recognized for his innovative approach and strategic vision. He has successfully managed large-scale operations, formed key partnerships, and played a pivotal role in the development and commercialization of life-saving medicines across diverse global markets. Under his leadership Centrient Pharmaceuticals have won API company of the year award in 23 during CPhI and for 2 consecutive years RE ET pharma award in 2023 and 24.
