In a major boost to risk education and professional development, Mahindra University has partnered with the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) India Affiliate to launch South India’s first Global Centre for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). The initiative aims to nurture future-ready leaders and strengthen risk resilience across sectors by offering globally certified ERM education and research opportunities.
Mahindra University Collaboration for the Future
The IRM India Affiliate, the Indian arm of the UK-based Institute of Risk Management, is a globally recognized body offering ERM certifications across 140+ countries. This newly launched centre at Mahindra University will serve as a hub for:
- Delivering IRM’s globally benchmarked ERM qualifications
- Risk-based academic research
- Faculty and executive development
- Professional networking and leadership building
The Centre was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chancellor of Mahindra University, along with Dr. Yajulu Medury (Vice-Chancellor), Mr. Hersh Shah (CEO, IRM India Affiliate), and Dr. Shivdasini S Amin (Head of the Global Centre).
What Makes the Centre Unique?
This Global Centre will offer a combination of physical infrastructure and digital resources to foster continuous learning and innovation. Some highlights include:

- A digital knowledge resource center with global risk reports, case studies, and whitepapers
- A Hall of Fame honoring global thought leaders in risk management

- A networking arena to bring together students, professionals, and visiting experts

With South India hosting key sectors like IT, defence, infrastructure, logistics, and finance, this centre will serve as a regional think tank to research pressing risk areas such as:

The Centre will deliver IRM Level 1 curriculum and help prepare students, professionals, and business leaders to anticipate and navigate evolving risks confidently.
