Hyderabad: Revanth Reddy government in Telangana is committed to providing LPG cylinders to the citizens of the state only at Rs 500. The Congress party government in has fulfilled its election promise. In Telangana, selected beneficiaries will get LPG cylinder for just Rs 500 while the remaining amount will be paid by the state government as subsidy. For the scheme to supply LPG cylinders at Rs.500 to be launched this week, the State government released Rs.80 crore on Saturday.
The Civil Supplies department has been directed to make necessary arrangements. In the orders issued, Principal Secretary for Civil Supplies DS Chauhan accorded administrative sanction for release of Rs.80 crore as additional funds to the Civil Supplies Commissioner from the budgetary provisions for the year 2023-24.
The Telangana govt will launch two schemes, a gas cylinder at Rs 500 and free power up to 200 units to domestic consumers under Gruha Jyothi scheme either on Feb 27 or 29. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy directed the officials to make arrangements for launching of the schemes. The Congress party made these promises during the assembly elections as part of the six guarantees and two of them have already been started.
