Speaking at the ISF Global AI Summit Curtain Raiser, Honourable Minister of Irrigation, Food and Civil Supplies, Sri Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy, said “The Advent of GenAI is transforming the world at an unprecedented pace. Rate of transformation is phenomenally more rapid that what human race has seen in the past with steam engine, oil, personal computing, internet, social media, etc.

While there is euphoria on one hand about the exponential possibilities and revenue multiplier, there is also the downside of job losses as we understand today and the potential misuse and social disruption. Yet, technology and economics will move forward and change the world as we know today. Industries across the canvas will benefit immensely: smart mobility, healthcare, drug discovery, compute, cloud storage, retail, agriculture, manufacturing, defence and aerospace, mining, exploration & drilling, and so on.

Hence it is imperative that societies and governments across the world have to adopt the role of enablers of the economic momentum and on the other hand work to build robust frameworks to harness the power of AI for the improvement of humanity, while limiting the challenges of deepfake, fraud, hallucinations, bias, and so on. Government of Telangana is ahead of the curve initiating the AI City, setting up the SKILLS University to nurture and develop skilled manpower and other such initiatives.

As we understand, Compute power and AI Ethics will be the major challenges going forward and need to be addressed collaboratively by Government, Industry, Academia and think tanks.” He complimented the role of International Startup Foundation in mentoring and providing the relevant ecosystem to foster early-stage startups with their disruptive and innovative ideas.
