200 Crore Covid Vaccine Doses Administered In India:
In order to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, India has delivered 200 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccination as per sunday. According to preliminary reports up to 1 pm today, 2,00,00,15,631 dosages had been given nationwide, according to a press release from the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. This was accomplished through 2,63,26,111 sessions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people for accomplishing this important goal in a tweet. He described the immunisation campaign in India as “unparalleled in magnitude and rapidity.”
Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union’s minister of health, also commended the country for accomplishing this feat in only 18 months. This fantastic achievement will go down in history, he declared. On January 16, 2021, the Prime Minister formally launched the COVID-19 vaccination programme in India.
Under his proactive and visionary direction, India supported COVID19 vaccine research, development, and manufacturing under the “Make-in-India” and “Make-for-World” Strategy, began utilising cutting-edge technologies like CoWIN for assessing geographic coverage, tracking AEFI for vaccines, promoting inclusivity, and providing a single reference point for people to follow their vaccination schedule, and prioritised vaccine administration.
“India’s free and voluntary nationwide COVID19 vaccination exercise is also carried out in a citizen-friendly way through programmes like Har Ghar Dastak, Workplace CVC, School-based vaccination, immunisation of persons without identity documents, Near-to-Home CVC, and Mobile Vaccination Teams. The National COVID19 Vaccination Program in India ensured geographic diversity by having 71 percent of CVCs in rural regions and more than 51 percent of vaccine doses delivered to women “Gender parity was mentioned.
Despite a nationwide drop in COVID cases, the announcement stated that ongoing efforts were being made to immunise all eligible persons. This is demonstrated by the fact that, since the beginning of the vaccination programme, it took nearly 9 months to reach the 100 crore milestone and another 9 months to reach the 200 crore mark for vaccinations.
On September 7, 2021, 2.5 crore vaccine shots, the biggest number ever for a single day, were administered.
The government began a 75-day “COVID Vaccination Amrit Mahotsav” on July 15 of this year in order to give free prophylactic doses to all eligible adults at government COVID Vaccination Centers (CVCs). To enhance the uptake of the precaution dosage of the COVID vaccination, a special effort is being launched as part of the celebrations for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (75th Year of Independence).
India also established a well-planned communication strategy to disseminate accurate information and specific instructions on COVID vaccination. It assisted in addressing vaccine reluctance and encouraged vaccination zeal and COVID-appropriate behaviour among the general public. The Union Government is devoted to advancing the COVID-19 vaccination programme across the nation and broadening its reach.
