In a major step toward improving healthcare in Eastern India, ICICI Bank, in partnership with the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), has laid the foundation for a cutting-edge cancer care block at the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (HBCHRC) in Visakhapatnam.

This new block, called the ICICI Foundation Block for Child and Blood Cancer, is backed by a massive investment of ₹550 crore and will bring much-needed advanced cancer care services to Andhra Pradesh and surrounding regions.

What’s Special About This New Cancer Facility?

  • It will be one of Eastern India’s largest cancer hospitals focused on treating childhood and blood-related cancers.
  • The facility will be spread across 3.9 lakh square feet and will have over 215 beds.
  • Once complete, it will serve 3,000+ cancer patients every year.
  • It will offer high-end treatments like CAR-T cell therapy, bone marrow transplants, and advanced radiation therapy with 3 LINAC machines.
  • The block will also feature ICUs, operating theatres, and research labs.

The hospital is expected to be fully operational by 2027, depending on regulatory approvals.

ICICI’s Bigger Healthcare Vision

This project is part of a broader ₹1,800 crore commitment by ICICI Bank to support TMC facilities in Visakhapatnam, Navi Mumbai, and New Chandigarh. These efforts will create:

  • Over 10 lakh square feet of advanced medical space
  • 555 beds and 19 LINAC machines
  • World-class infrastructure for cancer research and treatment

A Step Toward Health Equity

This new cancer care block is not just a hospital—it’s hope for thousands. It promises a future where cancer care is accessible, affordable, and advanced, even outside metro cities.
