Hybiz TV Telangana Tea Championship 2026

A unique 21-herb herbal tea brewed by Rachana from Narayanaguda stole the spotlight at the Telangana Tea Championship 2026, winning the top prize of ₹1 lakh at the fifth edition of the event organised by Hybiz TV in Hyderabad.

Held at the Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre (HICC), the championship brought together over 250 women participants from across the city. From ginger tea and jaggery tea to mint, cardamom, lemongrass and even beetroot tea, the competition showcased more than 200 creative tea flavours, turning a simple cup of chai into an impressive display of innovation.

Participants included housewives, working professionals, young entrepreneurs and tea enthusiasts, all competing to brew the most flavourful cup of tea. Their preparations were evaluated by a 20-member tea-tasting panel, making the contest both challenging and exciting.

Promoted as the world’s only tea championship exclusively for women, the event has emerged as a distinctive platform celebrating women’s creativity and passion for tea. The special blends prepared during the competition offered visitors a memorable tasting experience.

The event was presented by the Tea Board of India and supported by the Government of Telangana and Telangana Tourism, to promote awareness of tea and its health benefits.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including Patel Ramesh Reddy, Chairman of Telangana Tourism Development Corporation; Bharani Kumar IAS, Executive Director of the Tea Board of India’s Coonoor Zonal Office; Smt. Kavya Kishan Reddy; and Miss Universe Telangana 2025 Kashvi, who presented awards to the winners.

Along with the top prize winner,

2nd Prize: Usha Rani – Mallampet – ₹50,000 – Tea Variety: Masala Tea
3rd Prize: Priyanka – Kondapur – ₹25,000 – Tea Variety: Mint, Lemongrass and Ginger Mixed Masala Tea

In addition, *three runner-up winners received ₹5,000 each, and more than 50 participants were given consolation prizes.

The championship was organised with the support of partners including A-One Tea Company (Tea Partner), Subhan Bakery (Baking Partner), Swastik Spices and Three Mango (Spices Partners), Manepally Jewellers (Jewellery Partner), and the Institute of Hotel Management Hyderabad (Hospitality Partner).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. J. Sandhya Rani, Founder & MD of Hybiz One and organiser of the event, said it was inspiring to see over 250 women brewing tea together under one roof, celebrating both creativity and community through the art of tea making.
