Industry leaders discuss opportunities and sector trends

Several panel discussions and presentations during the conclave focused on emerging opportunities within the sector, including senior living communities, leisure living projects, hospitality development, and medical tourism in Telangana.

Experts also examined strategies for balancing legacy, governance, and sustainable growth in real estate enterprises, while highlighting the increasing role of innovation and technology in shaping future developments.

Women leaders shaping the sector

A dedicated session titled “She Builds & She Leads” showcased the growing role of women professionals in the real estate sector. Speakers highlighted how young women leaders are increasingly contributing to decision-making, innovation, and business leadership within the industry.

The session emphasised the importance of diversity, inclusion, and leadership opportunities in shaping the future of the sector.

Focus on Musi Riverfront development

One of the key discussions at the conclave centred on the Musi Riverfront Development Project, which aims to transform Hyderabad’s urban landscape through improved infrastructure, environmental management, tourism development and urban planning.

Addressing the session, Ashok Reddy IAS, Managing Director of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), highlighted the rapid growth of the city and the increasing pressure on water and sewage infrastructure.

“The city has expanded from around 170 square kilometres to more than 2,000 square kilometres, with the population now exceeding 1.3 crore,” he said.

Over the past decade, water connections in Hyderabad have increased from eight lakh to more than 14 lakh, leading to a significant rise in water demand.

To address these challenges, the government has undertaken Godavari Phase-II and Phase-III projects at an estimated cost of ₹7,300 crore, which are expected to strengthen drinking water supply and enable more consistent daily water distribution across the city.

Reddy also said that efforts are being made to improve sewage infrastructure by constructing additional treatment plants to ensure near-complete sewage treatment before discharge into the Musi River, helping restore the river’s ecosystem and improve the city’s environment.

Platform for collaboration and industry dialogue

HYDRECON 2026 served as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking and collaboration among real estate stakeholders, with discussions focusing on innovation, policy support, and future growth opportunities.

The organisers said the conclave aims to strengthen Hyderabad’s position as one of India’s fastest-growing real estate markets.

Members of the organising team including Vijay Sai Meka, President of NAREDCO Telangana; Sridhar Reddy, General Secretary of NAREDCO; Dr J Sandhya Rani, Founder and Managing Director of Hybiz One LLP; and M Raj Gopal, Founder and Managing Director of Hybiz TV, thanked speakers, partners, and participants for contributing to the discussions and making the conclave successful.

They said such industry gatherings play an important role in fostering dialogue and collaboration across the real estate ecosystem.
