Green Gold Animation has announced a major collaboration with Red Kite Animation (UK) for a new India–UK animated feature film titled “The Assassin.” The announcement was made at the Goa Film Festival and Co-Production Market. This partnership marks an important step in Green Gold’s global expansion and highlights India’s growing role in high-quality, director-driven animation.
A New Direction for Green Gold
Green Gold has spent more than a decade building strong original content.
With The Assassin, the studio now enters the space of adult-focused animated cinema.
The film is written and directed by Martyn Pick, known for his painterly and hybrid visual style. He is developing the script with editor Martha MacDiarmid. Green Gold’s Hyderabad design team is shaping the visual look of the movie.
A Dark and Emotional Story
The film is set in a tense, near-future city.
It follows a young man who loses everything after a deadly industrial accident.
As powerful corporations tighten their control, his fight for justice pushes him into a dangerous transformation.
The story blends rebellion, survival, and revenge.
With its graphic-novel style and emotional intensity, the film shows Green Gold’s commitment to global storytelling.
India–UK Co-Production Treaty Powers the Film
The project is being developed under the India–UK Audio-Visual Co-Production Treaty.
Both studios will work together on:

- Production
- International distribution
Teams in Hyderabad and the UK are building a hybrid production pipeline.
It will mix guerrilla live-action, rotoscoping, and high-end 2D/3D animation.
This setup supports a 15–18 month production timeline and aims to create a unique visual style for global audiences.
