Fernandez Hospital, renowned for its legacy of family-centric healthcare, has launched the Fernandez Baby Spa — India’s first hospital-based spa for infants. The new facility was inaugurated by Smt. Hari Chandana, IAS, District Collector of Hyderabad, at Fernandez Stork Home, Banjara Hills.
A First-of-Its-Kind Initiative
The Fernandez Baby Spa is specially designed for babies between 6 weeks and 9 months of age. Unlike commercial spas, it is integrated within a hospital setting, ensuring both safety and clinical oversight.
The spa focuses on early infant development through:
- Hydrotherapy for strength and relaxation
- Infant massage for growth and comfort
- Sensory stimulation for cognitive development
- Parental bonding experiences guided by experts
Each session is carried out under the supervision of certified physiotherapists, with paediatric check-ups before every session. The facility uses UV-sterilised, RO-filtered water, ensuring the highest safety standards.
Voices from the Launch
Smt Hari Chandana, IAS, District Collector, Hyderabad, praised the initiative, saying:
“The Fernandez Baby Spa is a unique initiative that combines science, innovation, and compassion. It supports infants and parents in building strong, healthy bonds. Such spaces can strengthen our public health ecosystem, and I hope this model inspires others across the State.”
Dr Evita Fernandez, Chairperson and MD, Fernandez Foundation, added:
“The Baby Spa brings early infant development and emotional well-being into the heart of clinical care. We believe this model can set a benchmark for how hospitals care for families during this tender phase. A baby’s earliest memories should be filled with warmth, laughter, and play — that is what we want every family to experience here.”
Setting a Benchmark in Family Care
What sets the Fernandez Baby Spa apart is its integration into a hospital ecosystem and its evidence-based protocols. The initiative reflects Fernandez Hospital’s continued commitment to innovative, family-first healthcare models.
Already, the spa has started drawing interest from new parents and paediatric professionals, positioning it as a pioneering model in India’s child wellness sector.
