The Government has collected RS. 1.77 lakh crore in GST for December 2024, a 7.3% increase compared to RS. 1.65 lakh crore collected in December 2023. In the financial year 2024-25, the total GST collection has reached RS 16.33 lakh crore so far.
November GST Collection: RS 1.82 Lakh Crore
In November 2024, the Government collected Rs 1.82 lakh crore in GST, marking the ninth consecutive month with monthly collections exceeding RS 1.7 lakh crore.
What is GST?
GST, or Goods and Services Tax, is an indirect tax introduced on July 1. 2017, to replace several previous indirect taxes like VAT, service tax, excise duty, and more. It features four tax slabs: 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%.
