Deccan Rice Expands to China

In a major milestone for Indian agri exports, Deccan Grainz India, the company behind the globally recognized Deccan Rice brand, has officially entered the Chinese market. Known for its wide international footprint, Deccan has already established a strong presence in countries including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, EU, Germany, Sweden, and Turkey—and now adds China to that growing list.

A Global Rice Brand Born in India

According to Kiran Kumar Pola, Director, Deccan Grainz India:

“We are the only rice brand from South India to achieve this scale of global presence. Our entry into China, the world’s second-largest rice producer, is a proud moment for us.”

Poultary

Deccan exports 30 varieties of Indian rice, with Sona Masuri accounting for 60% of total sales. With over 7 crore rice bags sold globally, the company has become the No.1 non-basmati rice brand in the US, making it a true global ambassador of Indian rice.

State-of-the-Art Processing, Local Sourcing

The company operates a 5,500 MT/month rice processing plant near Hyderabad in Sultanpur, powered by advanced Japanese technology. It sources rice from thousands of farmers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, supporting local agriculture while ensuring global-quality standards.

Deccan Coming to India in 2026

Despite dominating export markets, Deccan has not yet entered the Indian domestic market—until now.

“They say you must win at home before winning abroad. But we already won outside. Now, we’re ready to win at home,” said Kiran Kumar.

Deccan Rice is set to launch in India by early 2026, making its premium quality accessible to Indian households.

The Man Behind the Brand: Kiran Kumar Pola

With over 30 years in the rice business, Kiran’s journey is inspiring. From working in a rice mill in Kothapet in 1995 to launching the Deccan brand in London in 2008, he has built Deccan Grainz from the ground up. His early work at Aishwarya Industries laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial leap—turning Deccan into a globally trusted rice brand.

What’s Next?

As demand for high-quality Indian rice grows worldwide, Deccan Grainz is positioning itself not just as a rice exporter, but as a global food brand rooted in Indian values.

With presence in over 10 top global markets and plans to debut in India, Deccan Rice’s journey is far from over—it’s just getting started.
