On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, CARE Hospitals took a powerful step toward environmental responsibility by launching a group-wide sustainability campaign under the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution.” The initiative reflects CARE’s deep commitment to delivering healthcare that’s not only people-focused, but also planet-friendly.

With a pledge to reduce plastic usage and promote eco-conscious practices, CARE Hospitals has become one of the first major healthcare providers in India to integrate environmental goals directly into its day-to-day operations.

A Greener Commitment Across Every Unit

The initiative kicked off with a symbolic yet impactful pledge ceremony, where employees from all CARE Hospitals locations committed to reducing plastic use and upholding eco-friendly values in their workplace. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Vishal Maheshwari, Group CFO, and attended by several senior leaders, including:

CARE Hospitals didn’t stop at promises. Over several days, hospitals across its network hosted engaging, action-based programs that encouraged staff involvement and creativity. Activities included:

  • Plastic usage audits to assess and reduce dependency
  • Eco-friendly swaps for common plastic items
  • Oration contests and green poster displays to spark dialogue
  • “Plant a Memory” drive where employees planted saplings
  • Green desk makeovers to encourage low-waste workspaces

Employees also shared visuals and ideas on minimizing plastic waste, showcasing how small steps can drive big change.
