Bangladesh’s Parliament was dissoved on tuesday, the President’s office said in a Statement. President house also announced that former prime minister who had feuded with Hasina for decades had been freed from house arrest. Nobel Laureate professor Muhammad yunus agreed to lead the Bangladesh interim government as its chief adviser. A key organizer of Bangladesh’s student protests said Mr. yunus was their choice as head of interim government a day after Sheikh Hasina resined.

India in touch with Bangladesh Army

August 6, 2024 Briefing political party leaders in Parliament House External Affairs Minister S. JaiShankar said, India was in touch with the Bangladesh Army to ensure the safety of over 10,000 Indian students in that country. Jaishankar says, ”we are also monitoring the situation with regards to the status of minorities. There are reports of intiatives by various groups and organization to ensure their protection and well-being. we welcome that and will naturally remain deeply concernes till law and order is visibly restores.”

Concerned about attacks in minority

European Union (EU) diplomates in Bangladesh said they were very concerned about attacks in minority groups reported a day after the PM Hasina resined.
