A 45% Increase in Allocations For Telangana in Railway Budget
Telangana Railway Budget: Telangana will receive a budgetary allocation of Rs 4,418 crore for various railway projects this fiscal, which is 45% more than last financial year. The SouthCentral Railway (SCR) on the other hand will receive Rs. 13,786.19 crore which is nearly 65% more than last fiscal year.
SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain informed media that Rs. 345 crores was allotted for Munirabad–Mahbubnagar railway line, Rs. 185 crores were allotted for Manoharabad–Kothapalli line, and Rs. 10 crores has been allotted for Manuguru – Ramagundam line, Rs. 600 crores was allotted for MMTS Phase II project doubling and electrification.
Similarly, Rs. 337.52 crore was allotted for Kazipet – Vijayawada, and Rs. 450.86 crores was allotted for Kazipet – Balharshah third-line projects.Rs. 60 crores crore was allotted for Guntur – Bibinagar doubling project. Rs. 315.6 crore was allotted for the electrification of the Manmad – Mudkhed – Dhone section and Rs. 82 crores was allotted for the development of a Satellite terminal at Cherlapally Station.
A Capital Outlay of Rs 3,374.44 crores for the fiscal year 2023-24, as against Rs 1,531 crore in the last financial year was allocated for doubling, third line, and bypass line works. For New lines, Rs 819 crore for electrification works Rs. 588 crore has been allocated. An amount of Rs. 68.34 crores has been allocated for the implementation of the indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) Kavach.
An amount of Rs 1,360 crore was allocated for Track Renewal works and Rs 768.14 crore for Road Safety Works
