VinFast India is on the fast track to revolutionize the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market. The Vietnamese automotive giant has officially confirmed that its first Indian factory, located in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, will commence production in July 2025. VF7: First in Line
VinFast has previously conformed that VF7, a stylish, high performance SUV, will be the first
model in its offering in India. This decision could be based on the craze the Indian car buyers show
towards SUVs. The model was also showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo in early 2025.
Globally, the VF7 is offered in two variants:
• Eco
• Plus
The Eco variant comes with a single motor, front wheel drive setup, which can produce up to 201
bhp and 310 Nm of torque. It has a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen system. The claimed range
for the Eco is 450 km on a single charge.
The Plus variant, on the other hand, comes with a duel motor, all wheel drive setup, able to generate
up to 349 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The plus comes with a 15-inch display infotainment
touchscreen system. The claimed range for the Plus is 431 km on a single charge.
Both variants are powered by a 75.3 kWh battery pack.
Talking about the features, both variants come with:
- D-cut steering wheel
- Button-style central console
- Dual-tone theme
- ADAS suite
- Panoramic sunroof
- Head-up display
- Over-the-air update support
It remains to see whether VinFast will bring its global battery subscription model to India.
